It is Sunday and I am SO HAPPY about it! I have been super busy at work in both good and bad ways and I have found myself longing for spending time at home and on my patio in the sun. I feel like life is too short and I wish I could work part-time just for the summer to enjoy the weather!Â
In my most recent Bellbees order, they were kind enough to include two sheet masks from a new brand the store started carrying called Genabelle. Created by Dr. Conan Park, Genabelle is more of a “derm” Korean skincare brand with a focus on treating trouble and sensitive skin types. Though, it doesn’t say, I am assuming Dr. Park is a dermatologist (?) and is a bit of a celebrity in Korea as he is a “doctor to the stars”. While, this was not a huge selling feature for me, Genabelle does seem extremely serious about their ingredients and patented formulas. Genabelle has two sheet masks that I was able to try thanks to Bellbees and here are the results!
Glutathione Brightening Ampoule Mask
What makes this mask special? A high concentration of the antioxidant Vitamin G, also known as glutathione, as well as niacinamide and Vita Complex composed of kakadu plum, seabuckthorn fruit and camu camu fruit extract.
The look on my face is captures the scent of the mask! It smells pretty awful and it doesn’t really go away though you can only really smell it up close. My husband called me “fart face” and that’s because it smells like sulphur or eggs so really unpleasant. After trying so much skincare in my life though, the moment I smelled this, I KNEW the results had to be worth it!
Mask Summary:
Price:Â $6 CDN
What it does:Â Brightening and improving dull and textured skin andÂ
Scent:Â The scent caught me by surprise because it smells like eggs/sulphur so it’s not pleasant.Â
Essence Type:Â Clear, slightly jellyÂ
Duration:Â 30 minutes though the instructions just say 10-20 minutes, there was more than enough essence for this mask to sit comfortably on my face for half an hour!
Thickness:Â Medium
Mask Fit:Â Good with the nose piece fitting perfectly and the “moustache” being nice and wide! There were also small cuts around the eyes to help the mask sit more flat around the orbital bone.
Tackiness:Â Light
Hydration:Â Good
Other notes: My husband commented that my face looked “super white” and when I showed him the packaging he said “Oh so it did what it was supposed to do!”
PDRN Rejuvenating Mask
What makes this mask special? The presence of something called PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) which consists of DNA fragments (sodium DNA) extracted from the sperm cells of salmon. PDRN is a cell metabolic activity booster and promotes collagen synthesis, improve skin elasticity, healing and is an anti-inflammatory. There are also multi-molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, amino acids and peptides that all work together to create the HTD-Genacomplex.Â
The mask itself is on the thicker side, but there was more than enough essence in both masks to ensure a good fit even if there were a few extra wrinkles.
