As sisters go, few are as close and supportive as Kylie and Kendall Jenner. The two champion each other’s endeavors and never seem to compete with each other. But I’m sensing a little sibling rivalry when it comes to their hair lately. Last week, Kendall appeared in a new Calvin Klein campaign with a bixie cut; a wig, sure, but definitely not the norm for the model. The very next day, Kylie revealed her triumphant return to one of her most famous former hair colors, teal. And now, Kendall’s hair has taken a totally unexpected turn.
Just days after Kendall was spotted watching the US Open wearing an ensemble by Alaia (a day after walking in the designer’s New York Fashion Week runway show), she has revealed that she’s gone blonde. And unlike the platinum-pale blonde shades that her older sisters typically gravitate to when they’re feeling the urge to bleach, it’s a much more natural-looking take on towheadedness.
The model posted a carousel to Instagram with the simple caption “blonded.” But that casualness really undersells what a huge change this is. Her normally dark brown hair is now a warm, classic, golden blonde with shadow roots. In the photos, which include a selfie video, we see it loosely twisted up in a clip with tendrils framing her face, as well as down with a headband.
