Beyoncé is one proud daughter. The musician was in the crowd to support her mother Tina Knowles during Glamour‘s Women of the Year Awards, and she did so looking like a 2024 version of another icon: Marilyn Monroe.
Beyoncé has been blonde or blonde-adjacent for much of her career; she frequently experiments with all shades of the blonde spectrum, including the creamy “crème brûlée” blend she wore during the Renaissance tour. Recently, however, the Cowboy Carter musician has been all about the platinum blonde life, sporting the ultra light and bright color on the cover of the country album and to events. For the Glamour celebration, Bey swapped her usual long lengths and channeled Monroe in a voluminous retro platinum bob and vintage-inspired pencil skirt set by Sergio Hudson. Her hair was parted deeply to one side with the brushed-out curls concentrated at the mid-lengths and ends, similar to the va-va-voom bombshell hairstyles worn by Monroe and her fellow starlets in the late 1950s and early ’60s. Glam-wise, she wore a pretty pale pink blush and matching lip with a shimmery shadow and lush lashes. The yellow tones of her outfit were the perfect match for her icy white platinum.
The star was joined by her Destiny’s Child bandmate and BFF Kelly Rowland, who looked stunning in a side-parted curly style with subtle ombré color, and Ms. Tina, resplendent in her signature red lipstick.
