Of course, I had to do a black and orange look. I think I’ve mentioned a lot that I’ve been pretty tired because I am in the deep, deep throws of my dissertation chapters. Of course I had a lot of deadlines so that I could hit my milestones. Therefore, I wanted to do nail art, but wanted to do something that was a little bit lazy and calming. Hence my Halloween mix and match.
This really was not very complicated. I took out a bunch of black and orange nail polishes and figured I would just create a look off of my chosen colors. I ended up choosing two shimmer and two creme polishes.
I keep mentioning that I love playing out older colors. I hate to think that they just sit unloved in drawers.
- Sparkly Black: Girly Bits After Midnight, 2 coats but needed lots of thinner
- Sparkly Orange: Stella Chroma The Ides of Autumn, 2 to 3 coats depending on nail
length. Some of my nails only needed two coats. - Black Creme: Stella Chroma New Moon
- Orange Creme: Jessica Cosmetics Bahama Mama
This Stella Chroma Orange is one of my favorites from her. I believe it was a limited edition color and it is just perfection. I love how these colors look in the sunlight. It’s sparkly without being too in your face.
I have not done a leopard nail art in a super long time so I knew that I wanted to add a one nail with a little Halloween leopard look. A little skeptical if the orange creme would show up against the orange shimmer, but it is so visible. I do love that Jessica makes excellent and opaque creme polishes. The shimmer in these polishes are so pretty and they look good in any lighting.
