It’s time for KB’s holiday collection and this time, I am not a month late. LOL. This collections releases next week. As always, KBShimmer puts something for everyone in her collections! So let’s get to it.
As fall fades and pumpkins turn from porch décor to perfectly seasoned pies, we start looking forward to the first flurries of snow. Those magical white flakes inspire cozy days, where bundling up and sipping hot cocoa are the only plans. Snowflakes replace leaves, cinnamon fills the air, and we embrace the changing seasons. This winter, KBShimmer presents 12 perfectly seasoned nail polish shades to take you from fall to winter. Launching on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 this collection also features two sugar scrub scents and a lineup of our classic cuticle oils, now available with seasonal scents and rollerball application.
Berry Sweet Sugar Scrub
What could be sweeter than a blend of ripe berries? Juicy strawberries,
plump blueberries, and tart raspberries combine in this scrub for the
perfect balance of sweet and tart. Notes of vanilla cream, musk, and
bergamot round out the fragrance notes, offering complexity to this
fruity scent. Swirls of red and pink add a berry-appealing look to the
cream-colored base.
Peppermint Cocoa Sugar Scrub
Chocolate, candy canes, and sweet mint are classic winter treats.
Whether layered into candy, baked into cookies, or added to a cup of
cocoa, mint and chocolate go hand in hand. Light mint in color, the
KBShimmer Peppermint Cocoa scrub smells like one of those delicious mint
chocolate candies. The scent of sweet mint is accented by rich vanilla
and notes of dark cocoa, making this scrub the perfect treat for
yourself or someone you love.
In A Flurry
In A Flurry is a silver prismatic nail polish topper. Holographic flakes
catch the light, offering a glowy hint of rainbow. In low light, the
silver color of the flakes shines through. One coat over your favorite
crème shade adds sparkle to your manicure without obscuring the color,
or layer two coats for extra impact. The holographic flakes, varying in
size from micro to small, are as unique as snowflakes, perfect for any
manicure.
In A Flurry: One coat over Low and Be Bold. This is a topper that I know that I’m going to reach for all the time. I love that it can amp up a creme polish, but also just adds depth to any nail art. I use KBShimmer A Star is Formed all the time, but I have a feeling that this one will get a well-deserved place in my rotation.
Kringle All The Way
A classic shade from 2013, Kringle All The Way is a
Christmas-inspired glitter nail polish topper that features a mix of
metallic glitters in sizes from extra small to extra-large. Bright red,
silver, green, and holographic circle glitters create a festive feel,
while micro and small hex glitters add a touch of sparkle. For best results with this thicker, glitter-heavy formula, dab on
Kringle All The Way and use the brush to distribute the glitters. Some
may prefer using a toothpick or dotting tool to manually place the
larger glitters. After placement, apply Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top
for a glass-like finish.
Kringle All The Way: 1 coat over Thyme on My Hands plus Smooth Moves. This is definitely an ode to throwback glitters from years ago. I didn’t find this one too hard to manipulate and preferred to use the dab method where I sort of first put a coat on normally and then dabbed on the larger circle glitters. I also prefer this because I have very curved nails, so I made sure to place the large circles onto the flattest part of my nail. Just mentioning that I lost the sun but you get the picture.
Flocking Fabulous
Flocking Fabulous nail polish is a nod to flocked trees. A white crelly
base provides a modern holiday palette of glitters, with a fun mix of
fuchsia and icy blue hex glitters accenting the traditional red and
green. Large fuchsia and green dot glitters mimic hanging ornaments,
making this polish perfect for the Christmas season. Best applied in 2-3
coats, we recommend letting Flocking Fabulous dry before applying
Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish.
Flocking Fabulous: 3 coats plus Smooth Moves. This reminds me of the perfect Christmas vacation polish, like you’re hanging out in Florida or on a Caribbean cruise. The addition of pink and teal make it something different than previous Christmas polishes look. How many of these do I need with just red and green glitters? You definitely want to wait a few minutes in between coats so the glitters don’t drag.I felt like I waited a couple minutes and it still wasn’t enough as evident in my photos so when you do this as your manicure, just give yourself time to wait literally five minutes between coats.
Berry & Bright
Berry & Bright is a vibrant cherry red nail polish, perfect for the
holiday season. Near metallic in finish, this crimson shade catches the
light with hints of cardinal red and raspberry. Under certain lights,
you might even see a hint of copper or gold. Best applied in 2 coats,
this subtly shifting shade will remain a favorite long after the holiday
season ends.
Berry & Bright: 2 coats. I was very surprised by how much I loved this color as I really am not someone who reaches for red nails. I think it was something about the metallic nature of this polish that made it so gorgeous. In some lighting this pulls more pink on me, so your skin tone may reflect more red or more pink.
Present Tense
Present Tense is a bold purple nail polish with a warm magenta shimmer.
The shade shifts from flirty fuchsia to grape and more, as a glowy
shimmer moves through hues of pink and purple. In some lights, the
purple takes on blue undertones, making this a captivating shade. Best
applied in 2 coats and finished with Clearly On Top for an ultra-shiny
finish.
Present Tense: 3 coats. Short nails can get away with two. This one comes alive in the sunlight. It totally changes from indoor lighting and from what the bottle looks like. I love this shimmer that almost appears red and indirect sun.
Crushing It
Crushing It is a green magnetic nail polish inspired by crushed velvet. A
deep forest green base is complemented by a vibrant green magnetic
pigment, ideal for the “velvet” manicure look. It can also be worn in
traditional magnetic styles or without the magnet for a bright green
metallic effect. For a “velvet” look, hover the paddle end of a magnet
on either side of your nail to push the pigment to the center. Two coats
will offer full coverage for most.
Crushing It: 2 coats plus smooth moves. Magnetized after each coat. I love the inspiration behind the polish because it definitely looks like crushed velvet. The magnetic look is really fine, but I also loved it without the magnet so if you’re like me and you forget to magnetize your polishes then this is a great one either way.
How Noble
How Noble is a deep teal jelly nail polish filled with color-shifting
flakes that showcase a range of blue, teal, green, and sapphire hues.
Black flakes add depth to this polish. Three coats are recommended for
the best jelly-like finish, though some may prefer two. Follow with
Smooth Moves and Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish.
How Noble: 3 coats plus smooth moves. Two coats had a tiny bit of visible nail line so I opted for a third thin coat. You want to make sure you leave time between coats so you don’t drag. I also feel like we’ve seen similar polishes, but I am sure it didn’t have these little black flakes and I think that’s what sets it apart and makes me like it much more. I can’t even figure out which polish I’m thinking about so this is a welcome addition to my stash and I bet it would be gorgeous with matte topcoat.
Skating By
Skating By is a pale, icy blue nail polish loaded with glowing holo
flakes and color-shifting shimmer. While the silvery flakes add sparkle,
hints of soft peach and warm gold accent the blue base, giving it
touches of mint and teal. Best in 2 coats, this shade is perfect for
year-round wear.
Skating By: 3 coats. I knew I would love this from the moment I saw it. It has the same holo flakes that are In a Flurry, and it has such sparkle. Add some shifty shimmer and this one is perfection. No notes.
Bundled Up
Bundled Up nail polish pays tribute to those colorful winter outfits. A
vibrant grape base sets off a vivid teal shimmer, which quickly flips to
shades of royal blue, green, and indigo. This shimmery shade provides
excellent coverage in 2 coats.
Bundled Up: 3 coats. I can’t help but feel like we’ve seen this color before so I would have to compare it before saying this is a keeper for me. It’s a lovely purple with teal shimmer, but like I said, I feel like I’ve seen it before. This has a super super vibrant shimmer so I feel like it’s just a tad more shimmery than previous colors. I did two coats at first and took a few pictures and decided a third one was needed for some bald spots. So this will be dependent upon your nail length.
Get Your Knit Together
Get Your Knit Together nail polish is a tribute to the art of knitting. A
deep indigo, blurple-leaning jelly base provides the perfect background
for iridescent flakes. These iridescent flakes, shifting from fuchsia
to purple and aqua to blue, share space with black flakes, creating a
complex polish that pairs perfectly with your favorite sweater. For
maximum flake payoff, layer three coats before finishing with Smooth
Moves and Clearly On Top.
Get Your Knit Together: 3 coats plus smooth moves. This is the purple version of how Noble and dare I say I like it more. I’m not even a purple person. Again, this one would look awesome with matte topcoat, but the sun was going down and my nails were on fire from swatching. I don’t swatch like I used to so my cuticles get very sensitive to all the acetone as you can see my cuticles are pretty red at this point. I don’t know why but this nail polish gives me Halloween vibes, but that’s a good thing.
Perfectly Seasoned
Perfectly Seasoned is a spice-inspired linear holo nail polish. Its
warm-toned, light caramel tan base is perfectly complemented by a strong
linear holo flame, while red undertones mimic a dash of cinnamon. Two
coats will provide full coverage for most nail lengths.
Perfectly Seasoned: 2 coats. This does give me zombie hands and pulls out the pink undertones in my skin, but I can’t help but love it because it reminds me of a caramel latte. That or stuffing lol. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a linear holo from this brand so it’s nice to bring back what used to be the most popular finish.
Watts Going On
Watts Going On is a black reflective polish with a hidden surprise.
Reflective glitters catch the light, revealing a rainbow of colors,
reminiscent of those colorful holiday light displays. In lower light,
the polish appears as a deep charcoal with a subtle twinkle. Under
bright light or a flash, this polish blings more than the largest light
display. After drying, apply one coat of Smooth Moves followed by
Clearly On Top for a glass-like finish.
Watts Going On: 2 coats plus smooth moves. Although I have another reflective that’s black from KBshimmer, this one has some multicolored glitters or holo glitter that gives it a bit more dimension. I definitely have the other one so I’ll have to do a quick comparison.
So what do you think? What comparisons would you like to see? My favorite happened to be perfectly seasoned, berry and bright, in a flurry, and skating by.
