If you’re going to call a color, a watermelon red, then of course I have to do some watermelon nail art with it. Somehow I do watermelon art every summer and I never tire of it, so let’s take a look at this year. Version.
I somehow do watermelon nails every year and in 2022, I compiled them all together. I also did a watermelon look last year, so I should update that list! It is just the quintessential summer fruit and I love using it for nail art because it is fairly simple to paint! I saw a really cute strawberry and daisy look on Pinterest but it led to an Amazon store (and they probably took the image) and so I changed it to watermelons. I am sure I am not the first to create this, but it is so cute!
Here are all the colors:
- Base: Zoya Lavender and Pink Perfector
- Red: Zoya Frankie
- Light green: Jessica Cosmetics Love You Very Matcha
- Dark green: Barry M Spring Green
- Yellow: Orly Melodious Utopia (soooo old!)
- Black and white creme
I am not sure why but this took absolutely forever so I
probably should have done this as accent nails rather than on all of my nails
because I’m not sure the look came out as I wanted and I think it’s
because my back hurt lol. I even forgot to do the dark green part of the
watermelon and I looked at my nails and felt something looked wrong until I
realized that was the problem lol. I like the look of this though. I
just wish I executed it better because it was a hot mess. Not all art
can be winners.
Here is the look in indoor lighting. I actually got a lot of comments on this nail look even though I felt it looked kind of messy. It was definitely more of a Monet. wink wink. This red is a chameleon so it shifts with every photo, I swear.
With all the Halloween stuff coming out, I feel like I am ready for fall and we are still in the middle of summer!
