Ayo Edebiri has quickly become one of our can’t-miss red carpet pros. The Emmy-winning star of The Bear always brings her A-game for premieres, press events, and galas, both with her glam and her gowns and suits from designers like Loewe and Thom Browne. True to form, Edebiri was one of the standouts at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, bringing a little disco glamour to the event with her soft, fluffed-out curls.
Edebiri channeled Donna Summer’s signature voluminous ‘70s curls for the event, pairing them with her corseted Thom Brown Couture gown with a tiered, ruffled skirt. Hairstylist Naeemah Lafond turned the volume way, way up, brushing out Edebiri’s curls into a cloud of “fluffy glam waves” that spilled over the star’s shoulders and hit just above her shoulder blades with tons of romantic texture and movement. Lafond noted that she used True + Pure Texture hair extensions to bring the disco-babe look to life. Edebiri often wears her hair wavy and curly, but we’ve never seen her with this much volume before—and we can safely say it’s definitely in our top five favorite looks on her ever.
