Purchased by me
I told you I would have September’s Ipsy Bag for you shortly! Look at me keeping to my schedule! This bag was fall-themed and had some lovely makeup items inside to celebrate.
Nip + Fab | Salicylic Fix Clay Mask
This is when the surprise element of a subscription box isn’t the best because at the point in my life, I don’t use a lot of clay masks as I find them very drying. Though this 25% clay blend does contain brightening and soothing liquorice, I would prefer to clarify my skin with something more hydrating. If this were 10 years ago, I probably would have given this mask a try, but today I will be gifting this to a colleague’s daughter. I received a deluxe size valued at $2.82 USD.
Appeal Cosmetics | Melon Crush Sugar Scrub
I love a good body scrub and this one is the perfect scrub density! This is scented like candy watermelon which is unfortunately something I don’t enjoy (I only like the real fruit) in beauty products. As a shower product, this scrub is perfectly effective, but I am kind of being very generous with it so that I can finish it faster. There is something a bit strange about the valuation of this product though. This 30mL tube is the FULL size and it is a BODY scrub. If this were marketed as a hand scrub, I could justify the amount, but 30mL? That will last me about a week! Apparently, I received the full size of this which on the website is $21 USD.
SL Miss Glam | Large Fluffy Bird Blending Brush
I was actually really excited to receive this as this would be my first time trying out this Canadian brand! I have followed Stephanie for years and just never got around to trying out her brushes which everyone raves about so already from the size and taper of the bristles, I feel like this will be a good blending brush! I received the full size valued at $21.50 USD.
Pixi Beauty | Eye Define Waterline in Tightline Black
I have this eyeliner and it’s great! Super precise and able to line the waterline very smoothly without pressing too hard. The formula of the pencil is very smooth and adds just a little bit more oomph to the eyes. I’m still not the best at tightlining my upper waterline (I still blink like crazy), but the lower lashline is a breeze with this! I received the full size valued at $14 USD.
Pink Lipps Cosmetics | Mini Eyeshadow Palette
I like eyeshadow palettes, but I just wasn’t ready for another one this month! The thing is, the shades in this palette are really gorgeous, but as three out of the five shades are matte, I’m not sure if I want to hang onto this as I don’t really use matte shadows. The size is perfect and very appropriate for Fall, but just not for me this time around! I received the full size valued at $16 USD.
Final verdict: Factoring in the exchange rate, September’s Ipsy Bag was valued at $104.15 CDN which is more than the $27.61 CDN I paid for it (includes shipping). I think the Appeal Cosmetics scrub was a ridiculous price and inflates the value of this bag quite a bit, but other than that, it actually was a fairly good value with the three other full sized products included.
What did you think of this Ipsy Glam Bag? Was it worth it?
