Cara Delevingne Copy-Pasted Audrey Hepburn’s Bangs Onto Her Own Head

In the classic black-and-white film Roman Holiday, Audrey Hepburn’s character, a princess who is bored with her royal life, cuts her hair into a short, curly crop with baby bangsā€”a meaningful symbol of her desire for freedom. The cut was instantly copied by an entire generation of Hepburn fans, and the star continued to wear short bangs for much of her career. Now, model and actor Cara Delevingne has basically copy-pasted Hepburn’s bangs and put them on her own head, and they couldn’t be cuter.

Delevingne debuted the baby bangs at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film gala in Los Angeles on November 2. The model wore her warm bronde hair pulled up in an elegant twist updo, framed by the bangs. Though Hepburn’s fringe usually hit just above her brows, Delevingne’s was suuuuper short, leaving several inches of skin visible between the bangs and her signature brows. The bangs weren’t cut straight across like most retro baby bangs, which tend to skew more ā€˜50s pinup girl than ā€™50s movie princess. Instead, they were softly choppy, with the ends cut at varying lengths for movement; they’re perfectly imperfect, with that gamine grace Hepburn made famous.
