Ezoic vs Monumetric? Which ad network partner should you select? As with many things, there are pros to cons with each decision. I have used both networks (first Ezoic and then Monumetric) at Locs Life and definitely have opinions on which is better on a few different aspects. Here is my experience below with Locs Life, which you can take and see if either of these ad networks is a good fit for you.
Qualifications: Ezoic vs Monumetric
The first thing you will do before working with an ad network provider, is to look at the qualifications before applying. Every ad network provider has different qualifications for signing up and Monumetric and Ezoic are no different.
Monumetric:
- approximately 10k/mo in pageviews + other requirements as listed here.
I had about 10k/mo in pageviews when I applied with Monumetric. However, during the process, my pageviews were decreasing, and were definitely under 10k/mo when they were being reviewed. However, I was still approved! Thus, even if you are a bit under 10k/mo in pageviews, I would still recommend applying to Monumetric if you are interested.
Ezoic:
- no minimum pageviews/month requirement. Must meet Google’s requirements as listed here.
When I applied, I was probably at around 5k/month in pageviews. Ezoic used to have a 10k/month pageview requirement, but it no longer has it. Signing up for Ezoic and getting enough money to cover my blogging expenses was definitely a boost to keep writing (for me). Thus, that is one thing I appreciated about Ezoic.
Verdict: Ezoic
You cannot beat a no minimum pageviews requirement to sign up!
Set Up: Ezoic vs Monumetric
After qualifying, you will need to get set up with your new ad network provider.
Monumetric:
I actually had a bit of trouble getting set up with Monumetric. Part of it was my fault. However, the biggest issue I had was adding the required lines to the ads.txt file. I didn’t realize I needed to edit it from Ezoic instead of from the million other places I could (ie., from Adstxt Manager or directly from the ads.txt file itself). However, once set up, Monumetric handles where all the ads go. I did have a problem where they placed an ad that was completely hiding part of the page with no way to minimize it. I found that to be irritating, but they did take it down.
Lastly, there is also a one-time $99 fee for setting up a Monumetric propel account. However, if your earnings are higher, than this fee can easily be worth it after 1-2 months.
Ezoic:
I found the Ezoic setup to actually be a bit easier in the beginning. However, it did require a good amount of manual setup when it came to doing the ads. You have to dictate all the “blocks” in which an ad can live. While a bit tedious, it was all doable. Looking now, it does seem that they offer an assisted setup though.
Verdict: Ezoic
Ezoic offers more flexibility in setting up your site and if you don’t want that, there is an assisted option.
Payout: Ezoic vs Monumetric
After you are all set up and the ads are running, you will start accruing earnings. When it comes to getting paid, the terms are different for Monumetric and Ezoic.
Monumetric:
Net 60 days and you can get paid out via Paypal, Check, or Direct Deposit
Ezoic:
Net 30 days and you can get paid out via Paypal or Check.
Verdict: Ezoic
Getting your money sooner is always better. Enough said.
** 2022 Income Report – Locs Life Edition**
Earnings: Ezoic vs Monumetric
When it comes to measuring earnings, I am going to use Revenue per 1,000 sessions to compare these. Monumetric uses the term Sessions RPM, and Ezoic uses EMPV. While the terminology is different, all three metrics are the same thing. Moreover, while I am only using this metric, there are other factors that impact earnings like seasonality, time viewing ads, niche, and the number of ad impressions.
Monumetric: avg around $10/session
One of the primary reasons I switched from Ezoic to Monumetric was earnings. On the tailend of my Ezoic journey, I was losing pageviews, and had no idea why. It was likely at least partially due to some Google Core Updates; however, I was having some impact on pageviews outside of any major Google Core Update. However, when I switched to Monumetric, my earnings immediately jumped up, and my pageview count started to recover.
Ezoic: avg around $5.50/session
As noted, earnings with Monumetric were better. However, earnings with Ezoic are definitely better than Google Ads. I am one of the perhaps few people that would recommend signing up with one of the more “entry level” ad providers even if you have your eyes set on Mediavine or Adthrive.
Verdict: Monumetric
You cannot beat increased earnings! Looking at the same time period one year apart, I can see my earnings/session with Ezoic was $6, while with Monumetric it was $10. So even with seasonality out of the way, Monumetric performed much better.

Overall, you can see that Ezoic wins in 3 categories while Monumetric wins in 1 in the Ezoic vs Monumetric line up. However, at the end of the day, I still prefer Monumetric! The bump in earnings and recovery in pageviews more than make up for any other drawbacks. If you are around 10k/mo in pageviews, I would go for Monumetric. However, if you are way under that, I think it is still worth it to sign up for Ezoic. If you decide to sign up or would just like to explore further either of these, here is an affiliate link for Monumetric and a non-Affiliate link for Ezoic.
** Affiliate Links have been included for Monumetric. As an Affiliate I earn commission from purchases made via Affiliate links at no cost to you. Ezoic’s Affiliate program has been discontinued; however, I still do recommend them for exploring if they are the right ad network for you.
