Since COVID-19, everything has changed. Many people still wear face masks when they go out into public spaces like restaurants and stores. Since face masks cover more than half of your face, spending a lot of time perfecting your face makeup and getting perfect coverage does not make much sense. So, I feel that BB creams will become more popular and trendy as COVID-19 continues. I have definitely been wearing them a lot more. BB creams are great while wearing face masks because they are usually transfer-free, which means that the BB cream will not transfer, or it will transfer much less compared to foundation, onto clothing and things that your face comes in contact with. This means that you will get far less face makeup on your face masks and you can go longer between washing your masks since they will not look as dirty.
There are many great BB creams on the market, but since many of you love organic mineral makeup as I do, I chose a natural BB cream to review for you all today. The BB cream that I will review today is one that I first discovered at Target. It is the Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral All-In-One BB Cream.
Cost: $16.00 – $17.99, depending on where you buy it.
Amount of Product: 1 FL. OZ. 30 Ml.
Where is it made? This BB cream is made in the U.S.
Shades: There are 3 shades to choose from online that I could find: Light (11), Medium (16), and Dark (3). I purchased the shade Medium since that was the darkest shade that was available in Target at the time.
This BB cream is also vegan and cruelty-free.
Ingredients: This BB cream is made with mineral pigments, coconut water, floral stem cells, and hyaluronic acid. This BB cream is made without talc, parabens, phthalates, or mineral oil. This BB cream contains many great ingredients for the skin including jojoba, sweet iris leaf cell extract, Damascus rose-leaf cell extract, kelp extract, ginseng extract, safflower oil, glycerin, pomegranate extract, white tea extract, and aloe.
Aqua, caprylic / capric triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) esters, glycerin (vegetable), Cetearyl olivate, sorbitan sesquioleate, mica, iris pallida (sweet iris) leaf cell extract, rosa Damascena (Damascus rose) leaf cell extract, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) water, laminaria Hyperborea (kelp) extract blend, hyaluronic acid, Withania somnifera root (ginseng) extract, Carthamus tinctorius (safflower) seed oil, potassium cetyl phosphate, hydroxyethylcellulose, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, potassium sorbate, sodium dehydroacetate, sodium benzoate, citric acid, Punica granatum (pomegranate) extract, Camellia Sinensis (white tea) extract, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, parfum (natural).
Scent: This BB cream has a scent that is very hard to identify, but it does not have a perfume scent. Instead, I think it has a very slight soap scent to it.
Brand Promises: Pacifica states that this BB cream is an all-in-one formula that will create a dewy radiant finish. This BB cream is designed to be a moisturizer, primer, and a perfecting illuminator for the skin. At the same time, this BB cream is also supposed to be lightweight and feel as if you are not wearing makeup. Like most BB creams, this one is also supposed to adjust to your skin tone, help even the skin tone, and help reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines while wearing it.
Before Without BB Cream
After With BB Cream
This BB cream is a light brown beige with a peach coral undertone; it looks beautiful on the skin. It makes the skin look bright, dewy, and lively. I really love how this BB cream looks on the skin. Since this is a BB cream, it can also be applied quickly with fingers in just a few minutes when in a rush.
Formula: This BB cream applies easily and smoothly and it adds a healthy dewy illuminating glow to the skin. Furthermore, just as the brand promises, this BB cream does adjust to the skin color. However, this BB cream does have a very watery formula, so you must shake it before using it. This BB cream is also very moisturizing, so it is great for people with dry skin.
Coverage: This BB cream offers light to medium coverage. It is nowhere near full coverage, but it can be layered for a bit more coverage.
Under-Eye Area: This BB cream is great for the under-eye area because it really moisturizes and illuminates. It also makes dark circles look better. However, coverage is light for dark circles, so you will still need a concealer for the under-eye area and a color corrector.
Transfer: When I tested this BB cream to see if it would transfer onto a napkin, there was no noticeable product on the napkin, so when you wear this BB cream, it will have little to no transfer onto clothing and face masks.
While teaching early in the morning, this BB cream has been my go-to because it is really fast and easy to apply. It adds the right amount of skin tone correction, and it looks good enough on camera that I look fully made up while wearing it under bright lighting. I also love the ingredient list! It feels good to put medicine and healing ingredients on the skin.
Getting up early in the morning you need a little pick-me-up to look fresh, and this BB cream does just that for me. This BB cream looks dewy on the skin without looking oily, which is often hard for face makeup. My only complaint about this BB cream is that I would have liked it to have a bit more coverage; not full coverage, but a bit more buildable coverage would have been nice so that I could wear it out to more places. Also, this BB cream does not have a white cast, but for those of you who like to look a little tan or have a golden brown complexion, this BB cream will not work for you because it mutes the natural color of darker skin tones, and makes the skin whiter and lighter in appearance. All in all, I like the look of this BB cream on the skin and the ingredients in it, so I do think it is a good-quality one!
