Zoya Bloom, Swatches and Review

Well, this was the last thing on my swatch pile but then I never posted it. I have been so backed up because of my doctoral studies, but I still enjoy nail swatching but at my pace. And since this is technically still spring, I have no issues that I am sharing this now even though I have had this collection since late March lol. The colors are definitely appropriate for summer so if you have not picked these up, you still have time to wear them. And yes, the summer collection is sitting right in front of me.

Fleur: 2 coats plus top coat. Fun, classic spring pink cream. A nice formula, but nothing revolutionary as far as the shade of pink. As the description says, it’s a classic pink. The topcoat did not really add any additional shine as a note.

Phoebe: 2 coats. (New Color – Returned Name) Mid-tone watermelon cream. Well balanced between red, pink and coral tones.  I’m not really sure why they renamed this a completely different color that’s so different but the same name. I’ve sent them a list of names that I wish they would name polishes so it’s not like they have a shortage. The old color was part of the Mods collection from 2012. This is a bright pink pink and has more red undertones than Fleur. It dries a bit matte so it definitely needs topcoat to shine.

Zaria: 2 coats. Deep spring rose pink cream.. Yes, another pink. While I understand their market, this collection has three pink creams, and the April color of the month was also pink. These colors would make an amazing ombre manicure or a gradient on the nail, but it’s just a lot of pinks. This one has a great formula, but I knew that it would absolutely stain my nails, and it did. Nothing that a lint wipe couldn’t remove, but I just knew it would stain. Also colors like this that have red undertones always show nail line so I don’t bother to do a third coat because that nail line will still be there.

Hyacinth: 3 coats plus top coat. Sweet yet delicate candy pink, with microfine holographic, pink and white glitter.  This one really should be layered for people who have long nails like I do right now because you can clearly see the nail line. I probably would have done two coats over one coat of Zoya Candy, which was the color of the month. I do appreciate their risk with doing this finish. I personally love it more when these type of colors are used as a gradient and nail art because it’s really nail art in a pinch. I wouldn’t want to remove it.

Rhiannon: 2 coats plus top coat. Vibrant icey blue, with microfine holographic, aqua and white glitter. This is my favorite of the three and as I keep saying, I will definitely wear this layered. Maybe the June color of a month will be a blue neon (where is this color–it is mid-June!) since that seems to be the trend right now for them. This one reminds me of the ocean and it’s just really pretty for summer even though this is a spring collection.

I have the summer collection here and ready to swatch, but you can probably expect that later in the month or early July.
